Litchfield K-5th grade elementary students are wrapping up their year of Kuder Inc. Galaxy lessons. Galaxy teaches students about career pathways. Based around the Holland Theory of Education, Galaxy allows students to explore 6 planets to enrich their knowledge of career opportunities. Each planet focuses on one area of the Holland Theory; Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional. Students spent 2 weeks learning and exploring each planet throughout the school year.
To wrap up for the year, the students discuss their favorite planets and what they learned on each. Students then receive a certificate of completion as well as badges for each planet.
Galaxy is part of Litchfield CUSD #12’s intentional plan on assisting every student with career pathway exploration, so that every student leaves high school confident in their initial career plan.
