THIS MESSAGE IS FOR LHS REMOTE AND HYBRID STUDENTS/PARENTS: On Wednesday, September 16, 2020, the make-up session of the MAP Reading test will be held from 2-3:15pm. Any freshman, sophomore, and junior HYBRID OR REMOTE students will need to complete the Reading portion of the MAP test if they have not already done so during a previous testing session. The test will begin promptly at 2pm and will close at 3:15pm. Please have your child check his/her English Remote Classroom page for instructions beginning at 1:50pm on Wednesday. Students will find the testing instructions there as well as the required testing session ID and password. The LHS English teachers will be monitoring these tests and will be available for any help students may require during this testing period. If a reliable wifi connection is a problem for your child during that time on that particular day, please contact Mr. Hoster at your earliest convenience so that arrangements can be made to find a suitable testing environment for your child.
ATTN: Parents of Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, 6th, 9th and 12th grade students, including remote learners. Have you turned in your child's health requirements for their current grade level? These requirements must be turned in to the school by October 1, 2020 or your child will be excluded from school until requirements are completed. **ISBE requires that remote learners complete all health requirements as well.** If you have any questions, please contact your child's school nurse.
The PSAT/NMSQT will be available to be taken at LHS on Wednesday, October 14th. Students who would like to take part in the PSAT/NMSQT should sign up in student services by next Wednesday, September 16th. The registration fee is $17 and checks should be made payable to Litchfield High School. Students that are enrolled in the free/reduced lunch program qualify for a fee waiver. The PSAT/NMSQT® (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is part of the SAT® Suite of Assessments, itʼs designed to help prepare students for the SAT, college, and careers. Historically, students who take the PSAT/NMSQT score higher on the SAT, on average, than those who don’t take the test. Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT in 11th grade may enter the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships, depending on their score.
