Litchfield School District  is excited to announce the start of our 2021-2022 school year iDream iCreate Curriculum!

U of I program Coordinator Valerie Belsuko and Litchfield Career Services Coordinator Abby Carlson facilitated a lesson on Tuesday, September 21st with the Litchfield 4th graders.

The lesson was part of the U of I Extension iDream iCreate Program. The 4th grade lesson is titled “Glow Dreams Glow”. The students discussed what goals are and why they are important to set and work towards. They were then tasked with filling out 25 personal goals they have for themselves throughout their life.

The students were given a paper with a jar filled with fireflies, they were asked to write a goal next to each of the fireflies in their camping jar and watched as their goals lit up their future.

The students enjoyed looking through their folders at the activities from previous years and seeing if their dreams were the same.

The “iDream iCreate” U of I Extension curriculum remains a centerpiece of Litchfield CUSD #12’s intentional plan on assisting every student with career pathway exploration so that every student leaves high school confident in their initial career plan.
