Important Info for Pick Up and Drop Off

August 4, 2023

Dear Parents/Guardians of Litchfield Elementary Students,

Our staff has been busy preparing for students and getting our brand new school ready for students to return on Friday,  August 11th.

As we enter into the new school year with a brand new building, it comes with changes for all of us on many levels. I am hoping to address some of the questions or concerns that you might have with the following pieces of information.

Bus Drop Off
● Students that ride the bus to school will be dropped off on the south side of the building (Sargent Street)in our new bus loading area that is separate from the street traffic and will keep students safe while loading and unloading at school.

● Sargent street is a one way street from State St to Jefferson St.

● There is no parking on the north side of the street at any time.

Parent Drop Off
● Parents that are dropping off their child in the mornings, please remember that students are not allowed to be dropped off at school any earlier than 7:45 am

● Parents will drop students off at the front doors by accessing St. John street from the west off of Jefferson. St. John will be one way heading East to State St. There is NO PARKING allowed on St. John at any time of day. Parents will pull into the front parking lot, drop off their child at the front door, and continue around the parking lot back to St. John street.

Parent Pick Up
● Parent pick up will mimic drop off from the morning except that parents/guardians will need to make sure to have their car sign (will be provided the first day of school) displayed in the front passenger side window of their  vehicle. All traffic must enter from Jefferson as this is a one way street. There is NO PARKING allowed on
either side of Jefferson St. There is no parking allowed on St. John at any time.

These are new times and procedures for all of us. We ask for your patience as we transition to our new school. We will be monitoring the situation closely. Any changes made will be communicated with you in a timely manner.

Sincerely,

Jeremy J. Heigert
Elementary School Principal
