Dear Parents and Community Members:

As a school district, we have been closely monitoring the news and best practices regarding the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). As a result of a directive from Governor J.B. Pritzker, Litchfield Schools will be closed from Tuesday, March 17 through Sunday, march 29. School resumes Monday, March 30 barring any further developments.

School WILL BE IN SESSION on Monday, March 16.  This will be a full day of attendance.  At that time, students will receive the e-learning materials our teachers have prepared for an event such as this.  We strongly encourage all students to be present for these materials. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s building principal.

The closure affects all school programming, including before- and after-school activities, all athletic and extracurricular practices and competitions, and all weekend events.

In addition, make sure all of your email and cell contact information is up to date at your child’s school.  Be sure you download the Litchfield App from your phone’s app store.  We will be sending updates through devices and cell phones when available.

 Sincerely,

Dr. Greggory W. Fuerstenau, Superintendent
