Monday, February 3rd five classes of 10th grade students participated in the “iDream” U of I Extension career exploration lesson entitled “Be Smart!”  Litchfield native Dan Stewart, Regional Sales Rep. with Church Mutual Insurance Company, presented a lesson on SMART Goals. SMART Goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-based.  Students were instructed to record short and long-term SMART Goals that they could reference and use as motivation moving forward. There were also discussions around failure and not letting failures define them as individuals.  Students were encouraged to celebrate attainment of their SMART Goals. The “iDream iCreate” curriculum remains a part of the Litchfield School District’s intentional plan of assisting each of its students with career path exploration & individualized career planning.
