LHS Students, On Wednesday, October 14th, all seniors will be taking the SAT along with some juniors who have signed up to take the PSAT. All other students--freshman, sophomores, and juniors--who did not sign up for the PSAT will not attend school on Wednesday, October 14th. Thank you for understanding. The PSAT/NMSQT will be available to be taken at LHS on Wednesday, October 14th. Students who would like to take part in the PSAT/NMSQT should sign up in student services by next Wednesday, September 16th. The registration fee is $17 and checks should be made payable to Litchfield High School. Students that are enrolled in the free/reduced lunch program qualify for a fee waiver. The PSAT/NMSQT® (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is part of the SAT® Suite of Assessments, itʼs designed to help prepare students for the SAT, college, and careers. Historically, students who take the PSAT/NMSQT score higher on the SAT, on average, than those who don’t take the test. Students who take the PSAT/NMSQT in 11th grade may enter the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships, depending on their score.
