The South Central Illinois Regional Workforce Training and Innovation Center (SCI) is proud to announce it has been awarded a $479,000 Clean Energy Pathway Grant from DCEO to support the expansion of high-quality career and technical education programming over the next two years. This significant investment will strengthen SCI’s ability to provide students across the nine partner school districts it serves with access to in-demand career pathways aligned to regional workforce needs. Specifically, the grant will enhance programming in Laborers Construction Craft Apprenticeship and Industrial Maintenance/Advanced Manufacturing, ensuring students are equipped with the technical skills and hands-on experiences necessary to succeed in today’s evolving energy and infrastructure sectors. The success of this grant application reflects a strong regional collaboration. SCI extends its sincere appreciation to its valued partners, including Laborers Local 1084, Pattern Energy, and Lincoln Land Community College, for their letters of support and ongoing commitment to workforce development. SCI also recognizes the critical role of the West Central Development Council, whose expertise in providing workforce and labor market data helped shape a strong, data-informed proposal aligned to regional economic priorities. Through this funding, SCI will continue to expand partnerships with industry and postsecondary institutions, enhance instructional capacity, and provide students with clear, attainable pathways into high-demand careers in construction, manufacturing, and clean energy sectors. For more information about the South Central Illinois Regional Workforce Training and Innovation Center and its programs, please contact Director, Juletta Ellis, jellis@litchfieldpanthers.org.

Purple Panther Families, please check out our first edition of The Purple Panther. Our community newsletter is funded by the Kilton Grant.
The Purple Panther exists because our schools have remarkable stories unfolding every day. This magazine is not about spotlighting a single achievement or moment, but about offering a fuller picture of the learning, care, and commitment that define our district every day. I hope you’ll agree that we have a story here at Litchfield that is well worth sharing.
Dear LECC Families, Due to a water main break in the area, we have low water pressure at LECC. We still have the ability to wash hands and are working through the issue. School still dismisses at 12:00.

Purple Panther Nation, much to the smiles of students across the district....we are OFFICIALLY taking an E Learning day due to the forecast of snow during the morning hours that may impact the afternoon commute on top of our current conditions. While this is a hard call to make with snow just starting in the area, there are varied reports of accumulation of 1 to 4 inches. The current road conditions are still spotty and we are unsure of the impact of the potential snow. We will err on the side of caution. I hope everyone stays safe and warm (while maybe playing in the snow some, too!). Have a great day.

Purple Panther Families, TOMORROW IS STILL AN IN-PERSON instructional day. I have been made aware of an image circulating that shares we are doing eLearning. Please know all communications will come from the District directly. If anything changes for tomorrow, you will be notified through this messaging system and it will be on the news channels. Thank you for understanding. Dr. McClain
